Gaia Light
Im italienischen Rom geboren und aufgewachsen erlangte Gaia einen Abschluss der Rechtswissenschaften an der Universität La Sapienza in Rom. Im Anschluss entschlossen eine künstlerische Karriere zu verfolgen widmete sie ihre beruflichen Bemühungen der bildenden Kunst und Dokumentarfotografie. Mit Hilfe von sozial angetrieben Fotoreportagen und persönlichen Forschungen und Untersuchungen veranschaulichte und erforschte sie die Wechselwirkungen zwischen der singulären menschlichen Psyche und der Welt im Ganzen.
Sie arbeitet vorwiegend als bildende Künstlerin und seit der Erstellung des Light TV Projektes 2010 als Filmemacherin.
Gaia Lights Fotografien und Kunstwerke wurden international umfangreich publiziert und ausgestellt.
Ihr erster Bildband, Brooklyn Buzz (2012), publiziert durch Damiani und erstellt mit Hilfe des Co-Autors Alessandro Cosmelli, war ein internationaler Erfolg und wurde durch Picture of the Year International (POYI) als Finalist zum Best Photography Book Award in 2012 nominiert. Das zweite Buch aus der Serie, Milano Buzz, wurde durch Damiani im Dezember 2014 publiziert.
Sie arbeitet aktuell an verschiedenen neuen Kapiteln für das multimediale Projekt Buzz. Sie lebt und arbeitet in New York.
